Aircraft Detailing at Sacramento McClellan Airport (KMCC)

McClellan is a former Air Force base turned special mission field, with a 10,600 foot runway and a based fleet that skews heavily toward turbines and jets. It is one of the most demanding ramps we work.

The mission field

A Ramp Built Around Turbine Operations

McClellan is not a typical general aviation field. Nearly a quarter of the aircraft based here are jets and most of the rest are multi engine, with Coast Guard and special mission traffic on top. The work reflects it.

  • Turbine soot and hydraulic film as routine work, not exceptions
  • Special mission and utility aircraft with unusual configurations
  • Fleet and operator schedules rather than one off owner jobs
  • Long wings and tall tails that need proper access equipment
  • Interiors that see hard operational use and need real resets
  • Coordination with operators on a working ramp

These Aircraft Actually Work for a Living

A lot of what sits at McClellan flies hard. Utility, government, and special mission aircraft accumulate grime that a weekend flyer never sees, and they often cannot be out of service long. We plan around that reality with tight scopes and honest timelines rather than open ended shop dates.

Room to Work, and the Equipment to Match

The old Air Force ramp at McClellan is enormous, which is a blessing for a detailer. There is space to set up properly around a large airframe, and the field is used to ground operations at scale.

Good to know

McClellan Questions

Do you work with operators and flight departments here?

Yes, and it is most of what makes sense at McClellan. Recurring fleet schedules beat one off calls on both price and aircraft availability.

Can you work around an operational tempo?

That is the norm here. Tell us your availability windows and we will fit the scope to them instead of the other way around.

Do you handle turbine soot and hydraulic staining?

Yes. Both are standard on this ramp and both need the right chemistry rather than aggressive scrubbing.

Is access an issue?

McClellan is a privately owned public use field with its own access procedures. Let us know your operator and hangar and we will coordinate before the visit.
