Aircraft Detailing at Truckee Tahoe Airport (KTRK)
Mobile aircraft detailing, ceramic coatings, and jet washing at 5,901 feet in the Sierra Nevada. We bring a low water process built for the Tahoe Basin straight to your hangar or the ramp at Truckee.
Detailing at 5,901 Feet Is Not the Same Job as Detailing in the Valley
Truckee Tahoe sits nearly 6,000 feet up in the Sierra Nevada, and everything about that elevation works against your paint. We plan the job around the mountain, not around a valley playbook.
- Intense high altitude UV that fades paint and clear coat faster than valley sun
- Pine pitch and sap from surrounding Jeffrey and lodgepole pine
- Winter deice fluid residue and runway treatment chemistry
- Wildfire smoke and fine ash film through late summer
- Hard freeze and thaw cycles that drive contamination into the finish
- Long hangar sits between ski trips that let grime bond and set
Low Water ProcessA Rinseless and Low Water Wash Process
The Tahoe Basin is one of the most protected watersheds in the country, and ramp runoff is taken seriously. Our hybrid rinseless process uses a fraction of the water of a traditional wash, captures what it does use, and lets us work cleanly on a ramp where an open hose is not practical. It also means we can detail inside your hangar in the middle of winter without flooding the floor.
Seasonal SurgeReady for the Tahoe Season Rush
Truckee runs on a resort calendar. Traffic spikes hard around ski season for Palisades Tahoe and Northstar, then again through summer. We schedule around that rhythm, and we work within the airport's voluntary quiet hours between 10 PM and 7 AM so nothing we do creates a noise complaint for you.
Aircraft We Handle at Truckee
The 7,001 foot main runway at Truckee brings in everything from owner flown singles to most current business jets, and our service list is built to match.
Light Singles and Twins
Owner flown Cirrus, Bonanza, Baron, and similar aircraft based at or visiting Truckee.
Turboprops
King Air, TBM, PC-12, and Meridian class aircraft that make up much of the Tahoe circuit.
Light and Midsize Jets
Phenom, Citation, Learjet, and comparable aircraft operating on runway 11/29.
Large Cabin Jets
Bigger aircraft are welcome. Tell us the type and we will confirm scope and timing.
Ceramic Coatings
High altitude UV is exactly where a coating earns its money. Ask about the Tahoe package.
Interior Care
Ski gear, snowmelt, and grit track into a cabin fast. We reset it between trips.
Truckee Questions
Do you actually come to Truckee, or is this a valley company advertising up here?
We travel to Truckee from our home runway at Rancho Murieta and work on the field. Scheduling a Tahoe trip works best with a little lead time, especially in winter, so reach out early and we will lock in a date.
Can you work in winter when there is snow on the ground?
Yes. Our low water process is designed to work inside a hangar, which is exactly what Truckee winters call for. Snow on the ramp does not stop an interior detail or a hangar based exterior job.
What does the altitude actually do to my paint?
UV intensity climbs with elevation, so paint and clear coat at Truckee take a harder beating per hour of sun than the same aircraft would in Sacramento. Oxidation and fade show up sooner. That is the single strongest argument for a ceramic coating on a Truckee based aircraft.
Can you get pine sap off without damaging the finish?
In most cases yes. Pitch needs the right solvent and dwell time rather than force. The wrong approach is what causes damage, which is why we treat sap as its own step instead of scrubbing at it.
How far out do I need to book?
Truckee runs on the resort calendar, so ski season and summer weekends fill up fastest. Give us a call and we will tell you honestly what is open.
